About the artist
Nikolay Vetrov was born in one of the regional centers of Russia, located near Moscow.
The hometown of the future artist has deep historical roots and a very rich creative heritage, having nurtured a lot of the world's most famous poets, writers and other pillars of the creative intelligentsia, which directly influenced his attitude to his Homeland, expressed in a heartfelt sensitivity and love for the Russian nature, the everyday life of villagers and Patriarchal old, provincial and often forgotten towns.
Having received in the 80s a diploma of higher art education in the specialty easel painting, already held a professional dramatically changed his profession, for a long time (unacceptably long) leaving the creative environment.
At the time, it seemed to him that this decision was made forever…
A few years ago, already, as an established and respected man, he had a semi-mystical story, in which, as he explains today, he was given the opportunity from above to return to the great heritage of mankind-the fine arts, and leave (if you put all your strength and existing professional skills) in it a modest footprint…
Very little time has passed since then, but Nikolai Vetrov writes…
And he writes constantly, devoting all his time to it, and using all the opportunities that open up.
His artistic specialization is oil painting. The direction of realism, real Russian realism with artistic environment of profound continuity-historic roots and always closest to the Russian audience Russian audience.
As objects of his artistic interpretation and display are taken a variety of natural hypostases and all directions of human existence.
Landscapes that are covering all seasons and the most unusual subjects, classical and situational portraits, universal compositions - all his works are a finished product, ready to be evaluated by the highest and strictest standards. According to Nikolay’s opinion if he is given an opportunity from above such unique opportunity to show himself in his picturesque paintings, then these works themselves should be as close as possible to exclusivity… Nowadays works of Vetrov N. are highly valued as specialists, gallerists and owners of private exhibitions and auctions, primarily foreign, and serious experts and leading art historians of the domestic (including the most famous) museums and galleries.
The decisive opinion of almost all experts is the conclusion that the canvases of Vetrov N., in their performing skills, are preferable or even – "stronger" than many works and entire collections of the most fashionable and venerable, both domestic and foreign artists – painters.
In this moment, the artist has several proposals to organize his solo exhibition, both in Moscow and abroad. In this regard, there is an active process of material development…
Even today, canvases of Vetrov N. have a very significant collector's value, and soon for many of the connoisseurs of Russian realistic painting, they will be almost unattainable, because they are very rare…
